Our Commitment to Health
At Guardian of Dreams, we understand that health is not a matter of luck, but the result of responsible, rigorous, and planned selection over generations.
Therefore, our breeding programs are based on one fundamental principle: breeding only with specimens that have passed the recommended health checks for the breed.
All our breeding stock undergoes specific tests to reduce the risk of transmitting hereditary diseases, including:
Committed to health...

* DNA testing for the main genetic diseases of the Spanish Water Dog.
* Official hip dysplasia screening.
* Cardiac examinations.
* Eye exams to detect hereditary eye diseases.
But for us, health goes far beyond tests. We also carefully select each dog for its temperament, emotional stability, functionality, and physical balance, because a healthy dog must be healthy inside and out.

Each pairing is studied individually, assessing genetic compatibility and the characteristics of both parents with the aim of preserving and improving the breed, always with the utmost respect for its standard and natural abilities.
We know that no living being can offer an absolute guarantee against any future illness. However, we can guarantee that we use all the resources at our disposal, relying on science, veterinary medicine, and responsible selection, to offer puppies with the best possible guarantees.
Our commitment to health doesn't end on the day of delivery. We continue to support families throughout the dog's life, offering advice and maintaining follow-up that allows us to continue learning and improving generation after generation.
Because responsible breeding isn't just about producing good dogs; it's primarily about safeguarding the future of the breed and the trust of those who entrust us with the privilege of welcoming one of our dogs into their family.
